TO PEE OR NOT TO PEE?

I've always felt like I have a cast-iron bladder. I could hold back a pee from morning to night. I could drive from Provo to Las Vegas and not have to stop to pee. I could have to pee, but make it go away and then not go until 3 - 4 hours later.

My doctor prescribed some diabetes medicine that has a diuretic in it. At first, I felt like I didn't have any bladder control, but after a few weeks, I was good to go with not peeing.

By the way, that's another weird thing about me: I hate to pee! I can't explain it very well, but it's like it wastes too much time. I will be working with Karen around the house and stomp off swearing under my breath that I have to go pee. She knows how much I hate it.

About 2 -3 weeks ago, two strange things happened. 1 - I got so thirsty that I couldn't even swallow. I was dry. I couldn't even come up with a drop of spit. 2 - I had to pee like a racehorse.

I was peeing 2 - 3 times an hour and when I had to go, I HAD TO GO!!

I'm not talking an urge to go. I'm talking, if I don't get to the bathroom within the next 2 - 3 seconds, I'm peeing my pants.

The final blow was on Monday as I got out of my car at the off-airport parking lot in Salt Lake City. There was no bus in sight and I got the urge. I jumped and danced and squeezed and pulled and grunted and finally realized that I was going to pee my pants.

Another aside - Karen is several years younger than me. She told me a long time ago that the first time I peed my pants, I had to go live in an old folks home. So, feeling like I was going to pee my pants made me not only extremely uncomfortable physically, it scared me because I don't want to go live in an old folks home.

So, I looked around, saw a couple of other people waiting by the cars for the bus to come and decided that I had to pee...NOW!

I peed between my car and the car next to me. I almost wanted to scream with joy, it felt so good.

Well, I went to the Doctor to day to find out what was going on. After some tests, he told me that I had a urinary tract infection, sugar in my urine, blood in my urine, and that I was too fat and it looked to him like I had given up on trying to eat a good, diabetes diet.

So, I'm back to trying to watch what I eat. I'm taking some medication so I don't have to pee so much.

I told him that between my church and my doctor, I couldn't do anything in the world that was fun or exciting.

He agreed and told me to quit being a baby and do what he told me to do.

I hate to pee.
