CAN YOU HELP ME?
While mowing the lawn yesterday, on the shady side of the Ponderosa Pine, I saw something white sticking up out of the grass. I pushed it with my toe and this is what it was.
I kicked it around a little bit. Picked it up and rubbed and blew the dirt off of it and tried to lay it back down on my desk, but it now looks like this.
Can anyone tell me what this is?
I'd appreciate it.

You are a strange, dirty little man, Hunky Bob.
its fungus penis! Literally! The fruiting body of fungi is the mushroom! I.E. THE SEX ORGAN - and the brown "dust" in its gills are the spores! This one was created just for you in mind Im sure of that!
P.S. Having mushrooms fruit in your yard is a good thing! Its a sign of healthy soil!
Bob, I think you may have blacked out for a moment and had a terrible, terrible lawn-mowing accident. I think you should get yourself to the ER right away.
Nope, Amy. I just checked and I still have both of my big toes.
Coprinus comatus
John Wayne Bobbit called. He wants his, uh, "Bob" back.
